On our latest trip to Miami Beach, we decided to do something we don't normally do. Stay at a hotel chain other than Hilton. We decided to splurge on the Miami Beach EDITION hotel, which falls under the Ritz Carlton Brand. EDITION hotels are a boutique lifestyle hotel brand combining simplicity, fashion and glamour. If I had to make a comparison, I would compare the EDITION hotels to the Hyatt Andaz Brand.

Conrad New York

The Conrad New York is located in the Financial District of Lower Manhattan along the Hudson River. Surprisingly enough, the Conrad New York originally opened as an Embassy Suites. The hotel is owned by Goldman Sachs (it's across the street from their offices). In 2011, Goldman Sachs announced they would renovate and completely remodel the existing Embassy Suites and the hotel would be re-flagged as a Conrad.

The Renwick Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton (New York City)

While we love nearly all of the upscale Hilton Brands, our favorite collection of Hilton Hotels is the upscale, independent and boutique hotels that fall under the Curio Collection such as the Renwick. Housed in an iconic 1920s brick building, the Art-Deco Renwick Hotel was once home to John Steinbeck, Thomas Mann and other celebrated writers and artists. The Renwick joined the Curio Collection in December of 2016.
