Fairmont Washington D.C. (Georgetown)

We visited Washington D.C. over the Fourth of July. The second half of our time in the Nation's Capital, we relocated and stayed at the Fairmont Washington D.C. We were looking forward to exploring the Georgetown area. Georgetown is a charming area of Washington D.C. with cobblestone streets with plenty of boutique shops, cafes,  and a Sprinkles Cupake Bakery. The dining scene in Georgetown is full of upmarket restaurants and waterfront seafood spots and of course with the college setting nearby, plenty of clubs and bars. The location of the Fairmont Washington D.C. can't be beat. The hotel is not only great for exploring Georgetown, but it's only 8 blocks from The White House, 6 blocks from the Washington Monument and 13 blocks from the Lincoln Memorial. The hotel is about a 15-20 minute taxi or Uber ride to/from the DCA airport. The Fairmont is also a few blocks from the Foggy Bottom-GWU Metro Station.

Fairmont Washington D.C. (Georgetown)

As you enter the Fairmont, you'll immediately notice that it has an upscale feel. The lobby was elegant yet inviting. As you enter the front entrance of the hotel, check-in and the concierge is located off to the left with a bar and restaurant directly in front of the entrance that overlooks the courtyard of the hotel. The property has recently been renovated with a brand new lobby and newly renovated guest rooms.

We booked a standard Fairmont king room and we were upgraded to a Fairmont deluxe king room. Our room was extremely clean and tastefully decorated with decor that reflected the city's history.

The Room

The room was spacious was spacious with a king bed, sitting area, balcony overlooking the inner courtyard and over sized bathroom.

The marble bathroom had a walk-in shower, toilet and vanity. The bathroom was stocked with Rose 31 from Le Labo bath amenities (our personal favorite).

The Amenities

A large fitness center occupies the basement of the hotel with a pool, hot tub, large fitness center, steam room and sauna. While the fitness center is actually a commercial gym with memberships, hotel guests have full access to the gym, pool and other amenities. We enjoy working out (at least a few times) while we are on vacation and this was one of the best hotel fitness center's we've been too (probably because it doubles as a membership based gym). But needless to say, it's a great addition to the Fairmont Washington D.C

The Food

On the first floor of the hotel adjacent to the lobby is the Lobby Bar & Courtyard and The Juniper Restaurant. While we did not have a chance to eat any meals at The Juniper Restaurant, we did enjoy two delicious Moscow mules in the Lobby Bar.

The Fairmont Washington D.C. hotel exceeded our expectations. The location was superb and the room was extremely clean, comfortable and luxurious. The Fairmont provided a great retreat in Washington D.C., on what can otherwise be a very busy and hustle bustle vacation.
